Minister of Culture, Crafts and Tourism since 25 Aug 2021. Member of the Supreme Cyberspace Council and Cultural Revolution Council. Former Head of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) until Nov 2014. Under his tenure at IRIB, he was responsible for all programming decisions. IRIB has broadcast forced confessions of detainees and a series of "show trials" in Aug 2009 and Dec 2011. These constitute a clear violation of international provisions on fair trial and the right to due process.

L’IRIB a diffusé les aveux de détenus obtenus sous la contrainte ainsi qu’une série de simulacres de procès en août 2009 et en décembre 2011. Il s’agit là d’une violation manifeste des dispositions internationales garantissant le droit à un procès équitable.
