DescriptionForeign partner of the Korean International Exhibition Corporation according to an official brochure of the Spring Pyongyang International Trade Fair in 2016. Indicted in Taiwan in 2008 for exporting "strategic high technology articles" to the DPRK, and unilaterally designated by South Korea in March 2016. Involved in the transfer of illicit goods to the DPRK in 2006, 2007 and 2010, notably pressure transmitters, bought from a UK-based company and re-sold to Korea Chonbok Trading Corporation in Pyongyang, as well as numerically controlled machine tools from Taiwan. "The Panel concludes that RTC evaded local regulations, whether by design or omission, and consequently assisted the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the evasion of sanctions."[sources]

Descriptions

This entity was potentially recommended in the UN Panel of Experts February 2016 report. Recommendation 7 (p. 70) of the report states: "In accordance with paragraph 12 of resolution 2087 (2013) and paragraph 27 of resolution 2094 (2013), the Panel recommends that the Committee designate individuals and entities that have violated the relevant resolutions and/or have assisted in the evasion of sanctions (see confidential annex 109)." As indicated by the recommendation, the annex containing the list of recommended entities, individuals or vessels is confidential. However, Paragraph 185 (p. 64) elaborates: "[...] The Panel concludes that RTC evaded local regulations, whether by design or omission, and consequently assisted the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the evasion of sanctions."
