Nadi Al Sharq is a popular elite club in central Damascus. It has been a meeting place for politicians and decision-makers since its inauguration in 1951. The club was previously owned by Muwaffaq Ahmad Al-Qaddah and his son Talal. It was purchased by businessman Khaled Haboubati in 2009, and a company with 10 million Syrian pounds in capital was established in its name. Al-Iqtisad reported that Samer Foz purchased it for $12 million in 2018. Al Sharq Club Company has been sanctioned by the US.
