Liwa Fatemiyoun

Liwa Fatemiyoun (a.k.a Fatimid Brigade) is an Afghan militia founded in 2014 by Ali Reza Tavassoli (a.k.a Abu Hamed), with the purpose of fighting the Syrian armed opposition. Most of its members are Afghans from the Hazaras ethnic minority who had fled to Iran. The mission of Liwa Fatemiyoun is limited to protecting Shiite shrines and sanctities in Syria. The militia participated in the battles of Deir ez-Zor and Al Bukamal against the Islamic State, and the number of its fighters is estimated at 4,000. Liwa Fatemiyoun is subject to US sanctions.

تأسست هذه الميليشيا عام 2014، لقتال المعارضة السورية، على يد المدعو رضا توسلي المعروف باسم (أبو حامد)، وجلّ عناصرها من الأفغان الفارين إلى إيران من الهزار الأقلية العرقية الأفغانية، مهمتها محصورة في حماية المراقد والمقدسات الشيعية في سورية، وقد شاركت هذه الميليشيا في معارك دير الزور والبوكمال ضد تنظيم (داعش)، ووصل عدد مقاتلي اللواء إلى 4000 مقاتل. مدرج في قوائم العقوبات الأمريكية
